I have an annual pass and try to go at least once a month. The trails are sidewalk quality through naturally sculpted rock formations and manicured woods. It leads to a waterfall off the side of a cliff. The more it rains the bigger the fall. I recommend going after a rainy day. They also allow dogs to be walked through the trails.

Our 1st Time. It was very crowded & congested to get in but it was well worth it. The staff was very helpful, warm & friendly. We loved it, a real wonderful land.

They have an enchanted forest theme. Great for kids, and they have a restaurant overlooking 7 States, and a wine tasting area of local wines. So, something for all ages.... but it is not handicap friendly.

We had the fortune of going on a cold weekday morning. We arrived at 9:15am, well after the 8:30 opening time, and practically had the place to ourselves. It made it pleasant to not have people behind or in front of us on the trails, especially with two toddlers. I could see it being much less fun if it was crowded.

Afterwards, skip the on-site restaurant and head to the nearby Café on the Corner.

Definitely worth a few of your hours. Rock City is not nearly as kitschy as you might expect. You start out by picking one of three trails (red, blue, or yellow) from the visitor's center. All end up near the famous cliffs (see "Seven States!", it proclaims), then you can pick your return trail. They interweave so you can sometimes change your mind or take shortcuts. Note that only one trail (blue) is stroller-friendly. Don't think you can just fold and carry your stroller on one of the other two trails - they are just too narrow in parts. The trails themselves are stone with short stone walls. Little stone arch bridges carry you across the deep rock fissures below. Those afraid of heights may want to not look down!

Very beautiful view from the top! They say you can see 7 states from the top but I could figure out only three. Lol! It's 2 hours drive from Nashville and I really liked the whole garden and view too!
